The Commune of Bafoussam III in Cameroon hosted the first day of a Master Class on September 28, 2026, focused on managing Local Tax Follow-up Units (USFL). Over twenty Decentralized Territorial Collectivities (CTD) from the West and Littoral Regions are participating in the training, which is being led by NASLA. The theme of the Master Class is "Managing a USFL: Methods, Techniques and Tools," with the primary goal of improving local resource mobilization. The session aims to strengthen the skills of those responsible for fiscal monitoring to optimize tax bases and revenue, while also improving collaboration between USFLs and Local Tax Centers (CFLP). NASLA's Director General oversaw the proceedings, emphasizing the importance of bolstering the self-financing capacity of local authorities. Discussions centered on the fundamentals of local taxation, USFL planning, fiscal management, and dashboard development, delivered by experts in taxation and budget accounting.
