The National Institute of Autism in the Czech Republic estimates that between 1.5 and 2 percent of the population lives with some form of autism. This represents a significant increase compared to several decades ago, when autism diagnoses were rare. The condition is observed to be approximately three times more prevalent in boys than in girls. These figures suggest a growing awareness and/or actual increase in autism spectrum disorders within the country. Experts attribute the rise to improved diagnostic methods and greater understanding of the condition. Further research is needed to fully understand the factors contributing to this trend. The institute continues to monitor autism prevalence and provide support for individuals and families affected by it.
