Climate change is rapidly altering the natural landscapes across Austria. In a collaborative effort, top researchers have analyzed the potential environmental shifts occurring over the next few decades. The project, visualized in partnership with DER STANDARD, focuses on iconic locations such as Lunzer See, Pasterze, and the Lobau. These visualizations provide a glimpse into how these specific ecosystems may look by the year 2055. The goal is to illustrate the tangible impact of global warming on the country's diverse geography. By projecting future states, the research highlights the urgency of environmental changes. This initiative serves as a scientific warning regarding the fragility of Austria's nature.
