The parent company of Auckland’s Soho Hotel, IPG Capital, has entered receivership following substantial debts owed to creditors. IPG Capital was placed into receivership on June 10th, stemming from over $55 million in outstanding loans to the director. IPG Hotels (Auckland), operating as the Soho Hotel in Mt Roskill, is the primary asset of the now-receivership-bound IPG Capital. Despite the financial difficulties of the holding company, the seven-story Soho Hotel continues to operate normally. Day-to-day operations are currently managed by Capstone Hotel Management. The receivership does not immediately impact hotel guests or staff, but the future ownership of the property remains uncertain. The situation highlights financial pressures within Auckland’s hospitality sector.
