At least four artworks were stolen from the Pierre-Auguste Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer, southeastern France. Security footage captured two thieves cutting the paintings from their frames during the night on Tuesday, according to Le Figaro. One of the stolen pieces was dropped by the fleeing suspects. Bryan Masson, the mayor of Cagnes-sur-Mer, estimates the value of the stolen artworks to be nine million euros (approximately 218 million Czech crowns), as reported by AFP. Authorities are currently investigating the theft and attempting to recover the missing pieces. The incident has raised concerns about security measures at the Renoir Museum. The recovered artwork is being processed as evidence.
