A group of armed robbers attacked Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Cumilla’s Muradnagar upazila, Shakib Hasan Khan, and five others in Araihazar, Narayanganj, on Friday night. The attack occurred around 1:00 AM in the Dhandi and Rainadi-Atadi areas of Haizadi Union. Khan was reportedly sitting outside his residence due to a power outage when he was ambushed. The robbers injured six people with machetes during the assault. Simultaneously, the same gang looted 270,000 Bangladeshi Taka and approximately 14 *bhori* (a unit of weight for gold) of gold jewelry from a nearby home. Local police are investigating the incident and pursuing the perpetrators.
