Archaeologists in Egypt have unearthed two remarkably well-preserved tombs dating back 5,000 years to the Early Dynastic Period. The discovery, made at the Gabal El-Tair site in Minya, also includes prehistoric burials and later graves, providing a broader timeline of the area’s funerary practices. Experts believe these tombs could offer valuable insights into the evolution of ancient Egyptian burial architecture and potentially illuminate the origins of pyramid construction. The tombs predate the well-known pyramids, offering a glimpse into the practices of the period immediately before their emergence. This find adds to the existing historical record and promises to deepen understanding of early Egyptian civilization. Further research is planned to fully excavate and analyze the site and its contents.
