Central Vietnam’s rapidly expanding cities harbor centuries-old forests, representing unique ecosystems and cultural heritage. A new series of reports will explore these remarkable woodlands, located in provinces including Quảng Ngãi, Đà Nẵng, Huế, and Quảng Trị. These forests are not merely natural spaces, but also interwoven with historical events, local beliefs, and intriguing mysteries. They function as vital “green lungs” within the urban landscape, offering a contrast to the increasing development. The series aims to document the significance of these areas, highlighting the intersection of nature, history, and spirituality. These forests represent a tangible link to the past, preserved amidst modernization. The project seeks to raise awareness about the importance of conserving these unique environments.
