Algeria will initiate a tender process to import 3.5 million tires in an effort to address a significant national shortage. The announcement was made on June 21st by Djamel Cherdoud, CEO of the state-owned oil company Naftal, from the Naâma province. The import plan follows a period of scarcity in the Algerian tire market. Fourteen suppliers have already been pre-selected to participate in the bidding process. This move aims to stabilize tire availability for consumers and businesses across the country. Further details regarding the tender specifications were not immediately available. The initiative represents a direct response to growing concerns over tire accessibility within Algeria.
