The police chief of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has cautioned against the spread of disinformation, particularly AI-generated content, amid a reported “hybrid warfare” environment. Captain (retd) Liaqat Ali Malik stated that all entry points to AJK remain open for all traffic, including essential goods, dismissing claims of restrictions. He specifically urged the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK and Europe to verify information through official sources. Malik attributed disruptions to actions by the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), alleging they were obstructing vehicles and attacking trucks, which authorities are actively addressing. He criticized a recent BBC Urdu report as inaccurate and based on unverified allegations, noting the government’s version was not sought. Authorities have repeatedly affirmed the free flow of traffic, disseminating this information through official channels and fact-checking platforms.
