Hundreds of passengers are stranded at Bergen Airport after air traffic control strikes forced the closure of airspace for scheduled flights between 6:45 PM and 10:20 PM. The strike has led to widespread flight cancellations and delays, leaving travelers with limited options for accommodation. Local hotels are fully booked, exacerbating the difficulties for those affected. The Norwegian Red Cross has provided blankets and cots for passengers unable to find alternative lodging. Avinor, the airport operator, is opening up departure areas to provide more space for people to sleep. Authorities estimate between 300 and 500 individuals will be forced to spend the night at the airport, depending on the extent of further delays and cancellations.
