A new study analyzing over 10,000 TikTok videos across 20 popular categories reveals that content created using artificial intelligence is prevalent on the platform. The research focused on identifying the extent of AI-generated material within TikTok’s diverse content landscape. Notably, content geared towards children emerged as the most dominant category utilizing AI technology. Researchers examined at least 500 posts within each of the selected thematic sections to ensure a comprehensive analysis. The findings suggest a significant and growing presence of AI-created videos targeting young audiences on TikTok. This raises questions about the origin and potential impact of this content. The study provides data on the increasing use of AI in content creation on the popular social media platform.
