Researchers in the Czech Republic have unveiled a new application, DigiDiaDem, designed to aid in the early detection of dementia. Developed by teams from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Royal Vinohrady University Hospital, and the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the app utilizes artificial intelligence to identify subtle indicators of cognitive decline. Early diagnosis of conditions like Alzheimer’s disease is often challenging, as initial symptoms can be mistaken for normal aging or fatigue. DigiDiaDem aims to address this difficulty by providing a tool for more timely and accurate assessment. The application’s functionality and specific detection methods were presented on Thursday. This technology could potentially improve patient outcomes through earlier intervention and care.
