The Norwegian Union of Workers (Norsk Arbeidsmandsforbund) and NHO Service and Handel reached an agreement Monday evening regarding the collective bargaining agreement for traffic regulating work following mediation. The agreement ensures increased purchasing power for members and advance payment of sick pay, care benefits, and parental leave benefits, according to a press release from the Norwegian Union of Workers. Negotiating leader Terje Mikkelsen stated that traffic controllers perform an important job ensuring the safety of both motorists and workers on road projects, expressing satisfaction with the outcome. The achieved results will improve the financial security of workers in Norway. The parties have agreed on a final result that will now be sent out for ratification by the union members. This agreement covers workers involved in traffic regulation throughout Norway.
