Authorities in Đồng Nai province, Vietnam, have culled approximately 2,000 pigs after confirming an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF). The measure was taken to prevent the further spread of the highly contagious and deadly animal disease. The entire pig population at the affected farm was destroyed as part of the containment effort. ASF poses a significant threat to the pork industry and food security in the region. This culling is a standard protocol implemented to control outbreaks and protect other farms. Vietnamese officials are continuing to monitor the situation and implement biosecurity measures to limit the disease’s impact.
