Following the expiration of chairmen terms, administrators have been appointed to 19 Union Councils across three upazilas (sub-districts) in Barishal, Bangladesh. The appointments aim to ensure the continued operation of these local government bodies. Eleven of the affected Union Councils are located in Bakerganj upazila, while Ujirpur and Muladi each have four. Specifically in Bakerganj, the councils receiving administrators include Charadi, Dariyal, Dudhal, Faridpur, Kabai, Nalua, Kalsakathi, Garuria, Bharpasha, Bangashree, and Padrisibpur. This move is intended as a temporary measure to maintain public services and governance at the local level until new chairmen can be elected or appointed. The situation highlights the cyclical nature of local government transitions and the need for continuity in administrative functions.
