A tanker truck carrying 24 tonnes of hydrochloric acid overturned near Cherating, resulting in a chemical spill. Approximately 1,000 litres of the acid leaked from the vehicle following the incident. Emergency responders, including a hazmat team, were dispatched to the scene to contain and clean up the spill. Authorities have not yet reported any injuries related to the accident. The incident is currently under investigation to determine the cause of the tanker overturning. Road closures are in effect in the immediate vicinity as crews work to mitigate the environmental and safety hazards posed by the hydrochloric acid.
