Accra’s Metropolitan Assembly has declared August 1st as National Sanitation Day, scheduling a clean-up exercise from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. All commercial and trading activities will be suspended during these hours to facilitate the city-wide effort. The AMA aims to improve sanitation across the capital through this initiative. Residents are expected to participate actively in the clean-up exercise. This is the August edition of a recurring National Sanitation Day program. The temporary closure of businesses is a key component, ensuring maximum participation and efficiency in the clean-up. The AMA encourages full cooperation from all stakeholders for a successful event.
