A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced Solomon Moses, a self-proclaimed spiritualist, to one year in prison. Moses was convicted for defrauding an Indian woman who sought spiritual healing and then blackmailing her using a nude video. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced the verdict on its official X account on Thursday. The spiritualist exploited the victim’s vulnerability by offering false promises of healing. After gaining her trust, he engaged in extortion and further victimized her with intimate imagery. This case highlights the growing issue of online fraud and the exploitation of individuals seeking spiritual guidance. The conviction serves as a warning against such deceptive practices in Abuja and beyond.
