Abu Dhabi is actively seeking to leverage Chinese technology to accelerate its transition to a green economy. The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, led by chairman Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, is currently in discussions with 22 Chinese companies. These talks, following a recent visit to Shanghai, focus on collaborations in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and robotics. A key company of interest is Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL). This initiative signals a deepening strategic partnership between Abu Dhabi and China in the energy sector. The aim is to rapidly scale up Abu Dhabi’s green initiatives through access to advanced Chinese innovations. Officials anticipate significant advancements as a result of these collaborations.
