Thérèse Post, a 93-year-old woman nicknamed “Mamie Thérèse,” is traveling across France by hitchhiking with her grandson, Jules Riss. The pair have already covered 2,000 kilometers and plan to continue their journey to the Ardèche region next month. This trip is intended as a bonding experience and a means of exploring societal perceptions of aging and relationships with the elderly. The duo’s travels prompt reflection on how society interacts with and values its senior citizens. Their adventure highlights an unconventional way to spend time together and challenge traditional notions of what is possible in later life. The journey is also serving as a personal exploration of their intergenerational connection.
