A 7.4 magnitude earthquake centered in Colombia has caused light damage to infrastructure in several Ecuadorian provinces. The National Risk Management Secretariat reported impacts in Carchi, Esmeraldas, and Guayas. Fortunately, Ecuadorian authorities confirmed no fatalities or injuries within the country as a result of the quake. Damage assessments are ongoing to fully determine the extent of the infrastructural impact. The earthquake prompted a swift response from risk management officials to evaluate potential hazards.
