A court in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has granted a five-day remand for Md. Soib Kazi Sajib, a 31-year-old assistant technical helper with Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The remand is in connection with a case involving the attempted smuggling of gold valued at approximately 25 crore Taka (approximately $2.5 million USD) through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin issued the order on Sunday, September 6th. The investigation is being led by Sharif Hossain, Inspector (Operations) of the Airport Police Station. Further details of the case were not immediately available. The suspect will be questioned during the remand period to gather more information about the smuggling operation.
