Nearly 57,000 Ukrainian refugees living in the Czech Republic under temporary protection have applied for long-term residency this year. However, approximately 40 percent of applicants, roughly 22,000 individuals, have met the necessary conditions to be granted this status. This long-term stay allows Ukrainians a more secure future within the Czech Republic, beyond the scope of the temporary protection measures initially offered following the conflict. The high volume of applications demonstrates a desire among Ukrainian refugees to integrate and establish lasting lives in the country. Authorities are currently processing applications and facilitating the transition for those who qualify. The Czech Republic continues to provide support to those displaced by the ongoing situation. This recent approval represents a significant step towards stability for these individuals and their families.
