Indonesia's Ministry of Environment and Forestry has sealed off 21 companies across seven provinces due to their involvement with forest and land fires (Karhutla). Minister of Environment and Forestry, Moh Jumhur Hidayat, revealed the enforcement action. A concerning 30% of the penalized companies are repeat offenders, indicating persistent issues with compliance. The sealing of these companies signifies a stricter approach to tackling environmental damage caused by fires. This action aims to hold corporations accountable for contributing to the widespread burning, a major environmental and public health concern in Indonesia.
