The United States and five Central Asian nations – Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan – have reinforced their dedication to enhanced collaboration across multiple sectors. This commitment was formalized during the C5+1 Ministerial meeting held in Samarkand on October 19. A joint statement released following the meeting highlighted a shared vision for strengthening economic ties, energy security, and cultural exchange between the involved parties. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, alongside the foreign ministers from each of the Central Asian countries, participated in outlining these goals. The C5+1 format serves as a platform for ongoing dialogue and partnership between the US and the region. The discussions in Samarkand focused on identifying opportunities for joint initiatives and addressing shared challenges. This reaffirmation underscores a continued focus on mutually beneficial relationships in Central Asia.
