Following government explanations and initiatives, the Front syndical in Senegal remains resolute in its commitment to advocating for workers' rights. The organization has confirmed a 72-hour general strike scheduled for October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, aiming to intensify pressure on authorities to address their demands. Union leaders state the government’s current responses are insufficient, and they reaffirm their intention to continue the strike until their concerns are met. The Front syndical intends to maintain momentum until their requirements are satisfied, emphasizing “satisfaction of the legitimate demands of workers.” Prior to the strike, workers are called to participate in a march originating at the Faculté des sciences et technologies de l’éducation et de la formation (Fastef) at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, culminating at the rond-point Jet d’eau with a planned declaration. Organizers hope the march will demonstrate their determination and raise public awareness of their concerns.
