The leader of TOP 09, Matěj Ondřej Havel, is facing a significant challenge as a substantial number of party members in the Jihomoravský kraj (South Moravian Region) have decided to leave. Led by the regional chairman of TOP 09 in the Jihomoravský kraj, Marek Sovka, dozens of colleagues are defecting to join Jan Grolich and his People's Party. Havel alleges that Grolich has been actively attempting to recruit members not only from TOP 09 but also from other opposition parties. He stated they have been aware of Grolich’s efforts for some time and possess information confirming he is actively seeking to expand his party’s ranks. This move represents a considerable setback for TOP 09 in the Jihomoravský kraj and raises questions about political maneuvering within the Czech Republic. Havel’s public response indicates a growing tension between the two political figures.
