Thailand and Cambodia have committed to fostering a more positive environment surrounding ongoing discussions regarding their maritime boundary. This agreement includes making constructive public statements and actively working to dispel misinformation that could jeopardize negotiations. Both nations also agreed to exercise restraint to prevent escalated tensions during the dispute settlement process. These six confidence-building measures were recently published by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) after the second meeting of the Conciliation Commission. The aim is to maintain a stable atmosphere conducive to reaching a resolution. This development signals a continued effort towards peaceful dialogue between Thailand and Cambodia over the contested maritime area. The agreement reflects a commitment to de-escalation and productive engagement.
