The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation has purchased a 650-acre ranch on Lake Palestine for over $10 million, securing its future as a new state park. The property, held by the Pollard family since 1940, boasts significant natural beauty and valuable wildlife habitats. This acquisition will substantially increase public access to the natural resources of the area. Following the completion of the purchase in 2027, the Texas state parks department intends to introduce guided tours, campsites, and trails for visitors. The sale preserves 86 years of family history alongside the natural landscape of Lake Palestine. This landmark deal represents a major win for conservation efforts in Texas.
