Poland’s tax authority has alerted prosecutors regarding potential irregularities within the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The investigation centers around Value Added Tax (VAT) claims made using invoices totaling over 40 million złoty. Authorities suspect the PZPN may have claimed VAT on invoices from Publicon Sport that did not correspond to actual services rendered. Wirtualna Polska reports the notification was submitted to prosecutors on Wednesday. This follows a Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) search of the Polish Football Association headquarters last week. The case suggests a potential large-scale fraud involving fictitious invoices and improper VAT accounting practices. Prosecutors are now investigating the allegations.
