Tanzania’s Minister for Minerals, Anthony Peter Mavunde, has called for greater collaboration among African nations in the management and development of their mineral resources. Speaking at an international discussion involving Tanzania, Nigeria and Liberia in Accra, Mavunde stressed the need to move away from isolated national approaches. He argued a unified strategy would better promote industrialisation and accelerate economic growth across the continent. The minister highlighted the potential of pooled efforts to create more job opportunities through value addition within the mineral sector. This collaborative approach, he believes, is crucial for maximising the benefits from Africa’s natural wealth. The discussion aimed to explore shared strategies for sustainable resource management and economic diversification.
