Today, October 20th, Mongolia celebrated its annual State Anthem Day. A ceremonial performance of the national anthem took place at 11:40 AM in the central area of the capital city, Ulaanbaatar. Simultaneously, the State Anthem was played across central squares in all aimags (provinces) and at government institutions throughout the country, as a sign of respect. The Mongolian State Anthem was originally approved in 1950 and has been sung nationwide since then. The lyrics were written by Ts. Damdinsüren, and the music composed by B. Damdinsüren and L. Mördorj. The anthem celebrates Mongolia’s independence, unity, and aspiration for a prosperous future.
