A Senegalese police officer, Adjudant Moustapha Diédhiou of the Criminal Investigations Division (DIC), has achieved top ranking for his work during an international training program focused on combating organized crime. The training, held in Cairo, Egypt, from August 22nd to October 15th, 2026, at the Cairo Police Academy’s Police Research Center, involved 109 participants from 26 African countries. Diédhiou’s research centered on “e-payment crimes,” a growing concern for investigative services due to the increase in electronic transaction-related offenses. His contribution distinguished him among his peers and highlights the security challenges presented by the digital transformation of financial transactions. The training, coordinated with EAPD, aimed to enhance the capabilities of African security forces in preventing and suppressing various forms of organized crime. This recognition underscores the need for specialized services to adapt their methods to address evolving criminal activities and investigate digital payment fraud effectively.
