Mouhamadou Diouf, known as “Gana Gueye,” was recently re-arrested in Senegal, just after being released from prison following a presidential pardon. Diouf had been serving a one-year sentence when he received the pardon, offering him a second chance. However, this freedom was short-lived, as he was apprehended by police during the night of October 17-18, 2026. The arrest has brought renewed attention to Diouf’s criminal history, as police identify him as a repeat offender. Complaints from residents of the Bou Bess market regarding nighttime robberies involving violence and weapons led investigators to focus on the 37-year-old painter, a resident of Yeumbeul. Police officers from the Wakhinane-Nimzatt police station encountered him during a routine patrol, and he is now being held for multiple alleged robberies. Diouf will appear before the prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye court this morning.
