According to Zelda Hasle Borgersrud Øgrim, the general secretary of Red Youth (Raud Ungdom), the central board of the Red Party (Raudt) has proposed halving the annual support for the youth organization. The proposed cut would reduce financial assistance from two to one million kroner in 2027, a decision to be discussed at the upcoming national board meeting. Øgrim states this funding represents one-fifth of Red Youth’s total budget and a decision to cut it would have significant consequences, especially during an election year. She emphasized the impact this could have on their operations. NRK has reached out to the Red Party for comment, but they have not yet responded to the matter. This proposal marks a potential shift in the relationship between the Red Party and its youth wing, Red Youth.
