Construction of the Rail Baltica railway line in Latvia has led to the discovery of unexploded ordnance. Specifically, seven large-calibre rocket-propelled charges were found within the main line corridor in Bauska Municipality. The discovery was made by Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas (EDzL), the project implementer. This highlights the challenges of building infrastructure in regions with a history of conflict. The find underscores the need for thorough investigations before and during construction along the Rail Baltica route. Authorities are now handling the munitions, ensuring public safety and project continuity. This isn't the first time such discoveries have occurred, indicating a potential for further finds as work progresses.
