The Orionid meteor shower is set to peak overnight between Wednesday and Thursday. These meteors originate from debris shed by the famed Halley's Comet. The radiant point of the shower, the area from which the meteors appear to originate, is located in the northeast portion of the constellation Orion. Observers can expect the best viewing conditions in the late night hours, peaking around 3:00 AM. Unfortunately, current weather conditions do not promise optimal viewing opportunities. Despite this, skywatchers may still be able to observe the spectacular display of shooting stars originating from the Orion constellation.
