National Taiwan University Hospital (台大醫院) today unveiled an AI-powered disinfection robot developed in collaboration with Transcend Information. The robot, nicknamed “one robot equals four people,” is capable of autonomously disinfecting various surfaces within the hospital environment. These include operating room lights, hospital bed handrails, and even computer keyboards, minimizing human contact and reducing infection risks. Officials state the robot utilizes artificial intelligence to navigate the hospital wards and accurately apply disinfectant. The system aims to enhance hygiene standards and free up hospital staff for other crucial tasks. The robot’s implementation forms part of the hospital’s broader efforts to integrate technology into its healthcare practices, particularly in the wake of ongoing health concerns. Transcend Information highlighted the robot’s effectiveness and precision in eliminating pathogens.
