Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has called upon Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and MyCreative Ventures (MyCV) to actively support visually impaired musicians in Kuala Lumpur. Specifically, he requested MyCV engage in further discussions with the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) regarding potential funding opportunities. This push aims to provide financial assistance to visually impaired singers and musicians utilizing existing MyCV schemes. Fahmi emphasized the importance of ensuring accessibility within the creative industry. He highlighted the need to proactively identify and support talented individuals with visual impairments in their musical pursuits. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to inclusivity in the arts and media landscape in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Further action will hopefully result in increased support for these musicians.
