Residents in Latvia’s border regions are experiencing persistent mobile network problems, including unexpectedly high roaming charges and intermittent coverage. Many are finding their phones connecting to mobile networks in Belarus, leading to unwanted costs. In some areas, complete lack of mobile coverage is reported, causing significant difficulties for those living there. Despite becoming accustomed to signals from the neighbouring country, the overall quality of mobile communications within Latvia remains a concern. The issue primarily affects residents in these border areas, as reported by Latgale regional television. Authorities have yet to provide a comprehensive solution to the ongoing problems. These network issues highlight a gap in coverage and reliability for those living close to the Latvian-Belarusian border.
