The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has launched a new online verification system designed to combat the growing issue of counterfeit gazettes circulating in Ghana. This initiative allows individuals and institutions to easily confirm the authenticity of official publications without needing to physically visit GPCL offices in Accra. Nana Kwasi Boatey, Esq., Managing Director of GPCL, announced the system on Monday, October 19, 2026, during a press conference, stating it's a key step in addressing fraudulent documents. While GPCL had previously taken action against fake gazettes, the online system offers a more accessible and efficient method for public verification. The goal is to empower the public to distinguish between legitimate GPCL publications and deceptive forgeries. This new tool promises greater transparency and security in accessing official information from Ghana. Ultimately, the platform aims to protect citizens and organizations from falling victim to fraudulent activities.
