A 25-year-old man was arrested by police in Gela, Caltanissetta, following a failed robbery attempt at a jewelry store on October 16th. The suspect entered the store wielding a 3D-printed pistol and demanded the owner fill a backpack with gold. However, the jeweler informed him that the store does not sell gold items, causing the robber to abandon the attempt and flee. Police subsequently identified and arrested the suspect, who is now facing charges related to the manufacturing and possession of weapons and ammunition, as well as for attempted robbery. A search of the suspect’s home revealed several ammunition loaders, ammunition, a 3D printer, a welding machine, and a vertical drill, which investigators believe were used to modify firearms. He is currently being held in jail under order from the Gela Prosecutor's Office.
