Garment workers from Standard Group’s International Trading Service Limited blocked a regional road in Konabari (Zorun), Tongi, Dhaka Metropolitan area on Tuesday, October 20th, protesting for additional holiday days related to Durga Puja festival and other demands. The protest began in the afternoon, completely halting traffic flow in the area and resulting in severe congestion. Commuters and vehicles faced significant difficulties navigating the blocked road. Workers demonstrated their discontent by completely obstructing vehicular movement in Konabari. This action caused major inconvenience for people travelling through the area. Authorities have not yet commented on the situation or the workers’ demands. Local residents are awaiting resolution to restore normalcy to traffic flow in Konabari.
