France is deploying forces from Operation Sentinelle to safeguard buildings and infrastructure as it anticipates further protests this Saturday. Police and the gendarmerie are being reinforced with elite units, helicopters, and armored vehicles to manage potential unrest. Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announced a “massive police deployment.” Darmanin also leveled criticism towards the Left, implying insufficient support for maintaining order. These measures follow ongoing demonstrations and reflect the government's heightened concern regarding public safety. The possibility of banning gatherings is also being considered by authorities in France. The government aims to prevent a repeat of recent violent incidents during previous protests.
