A four-hundred-year-old oak tree located in an alley in Skalička, Přerov region, has been named the “Tree of the Quarter-Century” of the Czech Republic. The tree was selected through a public vote as part of a special initiative linked to the well-known “Tree of the Year” environmental survey. For 25 years, the public has participated in the "Tree of the Year" contest, choosing the most beloved tree across Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia. This recent selection identified the overall winner from the individual annual champions. The project celebrates significant trees and promotes environmental awareness throughout the Czech Republic. The mighty oak in Skalička represents a lasting symbol of the nation's natural heritage.
