Traffic has been halted since this morning on the road connecting the center of the Anagoub commune in the province of Zagora and the commune of Iknoun in the province of Tinghir, Morocco. The disruption is a result of heavy rainfall and subsequent significant water flow in the Wadi Anagoub. Hespress reporters observed dozens of cars and trucks stranded on both sides of the wadi, unable to cross. The strong currents currently prevent vehicle passage. This situation persists as of the time of reporting, leaving travelers and transport impacted. Authorities have not yet released information regarding when the road may reopen. The incident highlights the vulnerability of infrastructure to extreme weather events in the region.
