A fire broke out on the Motor Vehicle Ferry (KMP) Batumandi as it was entering Merak Port, Cilegon, Banten, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Thick black smoke engulfed the vessel, which had been sailing from Bakauheni Port, Lampung. The blaze caused panic among the passengers on board.
