The annual Sharadiya Durga Puja celebrations in Dhaka are set to conclude today, on Bijaya Dashami. Shubhashis Kumar Biswas, General Secretary of the Mahanagar Sarbojonin Puja Committee, informed Prothom Alo that the traditional Dashami Puja will conclude at 9:00 AM, followed by the immersion ceremony known as Darpan Bisarjan. This marks the end of the five-day long festival, a significant event for the Hindu community in Dhaka. The Darpan Bisarjan symbolizes the reflection of Goddess Durga being returned to the heavens. Preparations are underway at various puja mandaps across Dhaka for the solemn occasion. Devotees are expected to gather to witness the immersion and offer their final prayers. The celebrations have been observed with customary religious fervour and cultural programs throughout the city.
