The Czech National Security Council, with the President in attendance, assessed the current domestic and global situation, including potential risks. The council maintained the terrorism threat level at a mild status, discussing measures to ensure electronic services during widespread power outages. A key topic was the army development concept through 2040, which calls for strengthening the armed forces. Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna specified the plan aims for 32,000 personnel in the Army of the Czech Republic and 15,000 in active reserve. This year’s recruitment is reportedly record-breaking and will contribute to these goals. The Ministry of Defence is also preparing a reserve officer training course for university students and other initiatives to attract personnel.
